Forr this project we were asked to redesign the façade of a new building for a 5 star hotel in the Downtown district and of the pedestrian arcade and main access. The mass of the building is articulated in various volumes that are connected to each other by the finishes and architectural elements.

 

A 3 story high commercial podium houses restaurants and bars. Its volume includes outdoor and indoor dining areas, and is aligned with the main street access, serving as a transition joining the different part of the program. On the opposite side, the rooftop of the lower block includes the gym and a panoramic swimming pool. All the rooms are located in the tower building which is aligned with the north-south orientation that looks towards the Burj Khalifa. Crowning the building is a restaurant with a generous terrace which offers uninterrupted views of the downtown cityscape.

 

For the white finishes of the walls light GRC panels are used to give a more textured feel. The curtain wall vertical fins and the horizontal lines of the podium are claded in golden anodized aluminum that matches the hotel window frames and unify the look of the building.
