The volume of the Guggenheim Helsinki Art Museum draws its inspiration in the organic shapes of nature and the finish timber forests. Its interior space develops itself in an ascending spiral that flows from private conditioned galleries to public transparent spaces.

The skin of the shell that constitutes the façade is composed of three layers of timber assembled in different directions, creating a spiral pattern which becomes a weaving mesh that supports the facades glass panels. Its characteristic shell frames the panoramas of the city and gives the building its distinctive character.
